Spin Hall Effect Research Progress in Nature Communications
Graduate students Dai Yudi and Xiong Junlin from our research group have published a significant research paper titled "Interfacial Magnetic Spin Hall Effect in van der Waals Fe3GeTe2/MoTe2 Heterostructure" in Nature Communications. The study theoretically proposes that a spin current dipole induced at the interface of a magnetic-topological heterostructure can generate a time-reversal-odd magnetic spin Hall effect. Experimentally, the researchers constructed a Fe3GeTe2/MoTe2 van der Waals heterostructure using an "atomic LEGO" approach and observed a charge-spin conversion effect dependent on the magnetization direction, confirming the existence of the spin-reversal-odd interfacial charge-spin conversion effect. Furthermore, the team explored the tunability and high linearity of the magnetic spin Hall effect to propose a novel in-memory computing concept device and a binary neural network based on this unit, providing a new approach for the development of low-power in-memory computing devices based on spintronics. Congratulations to Dai Yudi and Xiong Junlin!
